Miles River Race – Memorial Day Weekend

A belated congratulations to Peter Rich and the Buxton crew for winning the Miles River Race over Memorial Day weekend!! Spaceman Spiff finished second, Rush Hour bringing up the rear.

I believe the Rush Hour was tied with Spaceman Spiff for the race to C-Street and Foxie’s in St. Mikes post dinner…always quite the fun-filled evening. And without question, Duy Huynh won the race back on Sunday morning! #FranktheFlamingo

Thank you to the Miles River Yacht Club and Eastport Yacht for hosting both races. These might be our favorite of the season (even though we’re partial to the J/24 ECCs!)

2018 Annapolis NOOD Regatta May 4-6

Thank you to Blow’viate who joined Fleet 8 from the Southern Bay and Who Wa who joined us again from the Northern Bay! It was great to have you all in Annapolis for the NOOD Regatta and we hope to host you again soon.

Congratulations to Rush Hour who placed first, breaking the tie breaker with Spaceman Spiff who placed second. Peter Rich and the Buxton team finished third.

See you all next week for the start of JWorld Annapolis Thursday Night Racing!

2017-2018 Frostbite Racing

Annapolis Yacht Club hosted the Frostbite Series I & II just following the J/24 East Coast Championship. Spaceman Spiff, Rush Hour and JABB competed in PHRF C for both series.

Depending on the breeze direction, the race committee either started us right off of SSA (perfect for all of us!) and sent us out to the green cans and out toward the radio towers or by the Naval Academy seawall headed up the river.

Frostbite racing is the best! Start for our class is at 1:30pm, you do an hour long race, head in for lunch and then back out for a second race around 3:00. If all goes according to plan, the boat is back on the trailer and you’re on your way by 4:30-5. A perfect way to pass the winter and it helps bring the Annapolis NOOD to town just that much faster!

Great Breeze for the Twilight!

Spaceman Spiff, Radical J, Rush Hour and Roo all went out for a beautiful day of summer sailing on the Bay this past Saturday for the Shearwater Twilight race. The breeze was up with gusts to 20 shortly before the start at 5:25pm. Breeze was consistent out of the south…definitely jib weather!

The Shearwater SC sent us over to the Eastern Shore to R88, then up toward the Bridge to R90, then back to R88, with a finish at the Annapolis weather buoy. Spaceman Spiff finished first with the Rush Hour coming in second. Congrats Spiff!
