Please take a moment to send in your dues to Fleet 8, US J/24 Class Association, CBYRA & US Sailing. These organizations support sailing on the Bay and across the country and your donations are important to the growth of our favorite sport!

Update from Fleet Meeting

Fleet 8 held a meeting this past week to elect officers for 2014 and discuss this year’s regatta schedule. Here are the 2014 Fleet Officers:

  • Fleet Captain – Pat FitzGerald
  • Vice-Captain – Vacant (Still seeking volunteers or nominations!)
  • Treasurer – Peter Rich
  • ECC Regatta Chair – Mark Rivera
  • Social Chair – Rich Bowen
  • Liaison to CBYRA – Mark Rivera
  • Liaison to SSA – Pat FitzGerald
  • District 6 Governor – Tony Parker

 

Planning for the schedule is still underway, as there are meetings with SSA and CBYRA in the coming weeks. A 2014 Fleet 8 Regatta schedule will be published soon.

Upcoming regattas:

  • SSA Spring Series – Saturday, April 12
  • Annapolis NOOD Regatta – May 2 – 4

Fleet Annual Meeting – January 8

The Fleet 8 Annual Meeting will be held on Wednesday, January 8 at 6:30pm at Severn Sailing Association. Please RSVP to Mark Rivera, so there is plenty of pizza and drinks.

Agenda items include:

  • Nominating & Electing a 2014 Fleet Captain
  • 2014 Fleet schedule
  • ECCs

The 2013 Hillman Focused Advantage Fund J/24 East Coast Championship invites you to three days of world class racing on the waters of the Chesapeake Bay. Registration is now open for the ECCs being held in Annapolis, MD Nov. 1-3.
